What will be different tomorrow?

Time slows down when you are falling. Sometimes you have a chance to look for something to hold on to, usually you look to see where you are about to hit the ground and try to gauge the consequences of the coming impact.

Hundreds of thousands of lives are falling now to Covid-19. As we look for something to hold on to and try to assess the consequences, the final impact is fast approaching.

This split second in the present is our best chance to prepare for that impact.

The risks of an epidemic like this happening were known. We also know that this will not be the last epidemic humanity will face. Anything we learn now will help to inform future communities.

The resilience required to not only recover but also supersede our current systems is not to be underestimated. We have an opportunity now to reflect.

What are the keys to resilience?

What are our values?

How effective is our healthcare system?

How effective is our justice system?

How effective is our political system?

How sustainable is our built environment?

How sustainable are our communication systems?

How sustainable is our relationship to the natural environment?

This is a rare opportunity to re set. As everything is slowing down to reduce the spread of coronavirus, we can use this time to reflect and strategize our approach to tomorrow.

What will be different tomorrow? This present moment will be gone, and we will face the future with what preparations we have made.
